“ASEAN DAY 2013” to commemorate the 46th year of the establishment of ASEAN

On Thursday 8th, August 2013, the Department of ASEAN Affairs will hostan event to celebrate the 46th anniversary of the establishment of ASEAN, “ASEAN Day”, at VithesSamosorn. Mr. SurapongTovichakchaikul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, will preside over the opening ceremony at 9.00 hrs. There will be severalactivities to raise ASEAN awareness during the day such as ‘ASEAN Quiz’ competition, an ASEAN exhibition andthe display of the winning pieces of ASEAN Drawing competition 2013 under the theme “Our People, Our Future Together”.

From 14.00-16.30hrs, there will be a seminar on “ASEAN Community: One vision,multiculturalism, and how can we live together?” co-hosted by Department of ASEAN Affairs and ASEAN Association-Thailand, with several public figures includingDr. NarongchaiAkrasanee, Chairman of the Board of Directors MFC Asset Management Public Company Limited;Assistant ProfessorDr. KittiPrasirtsuk, Director of Institute of EastAsian Studies, and lecturer of the Faculty of Political Science,Thammasat University; Mr. ChibJitniyom, ThaiTV3 news presenter and Asia Connect Producer.The seminar is open to all andis free of charge.For more information, please contact ASEANAssociation-Thailand, Tel. 02-203-5000 ext. 44202or 44204.
